Hardware System Engineer

About the Team

The team consists of a mixed group of both recent graduates and more experienced employees, where half have 0–5 years of experience and the other half have longer experience. Several of their recent graduates have completed their theses at SAAB, and many have studied aerospace engineering or other relevant fields.

About the Role

As a System Engineer within SMRA, you will work with the integration of avionics and mission-specific systems for platforms such as GlobalEye, SAAB 2000 AEW&C, and SAAB 340 AEW. The role includes both large platform projects and support for aftermarket and maintenance of delivered systems. You will collaborate closely with other technical areas and have international contacts with suppliers, both digitally and in physical meetings, and travel may occur. At SMRA, you will gain unique insight into the entire product's functionality and have the opportunity to contribute to world-leading platforms in surveillance and reconnaissance.

Examples of Responsibilities:

Create design documentation and modify systems for aircraft with a focus on quality and safety
Plan, execute, and follow up on tests and collaborate during flight tests
Manage requirements from customers and authorities and support certification and airworthiness
Review and provide input on flight and maintenance manuals
Collaborate closely with internal teams and with suppliers, both national and international

We Believe You Have:

A technical education at the university or engineering level in computer science, computer engineering, technical physics, mechanical engineering, media technology, industrial economics with a master's in mechatronics, or other relevant education
Some years of experience as a System Developer, Device Engineer, or System Engineer, or equivalent experience
Swedish citizenship

Desirable:

Interest in integrating large systems
Experience in system development, technical leadership, or project work
Experience from the aerospace industry
